Subject:	Modification of schedule and contents of the MIS course

        I would like to inform all of you about the modification of schedule and contents of the MIS course, CS 6102 and ICT 6400, as follows:

1.	Over 10 years ago, when we did not have the Major of "Internet and eCommerce", I included www.CharmingMall.com in the MIS course to provide students with knowledge of Internet and eCommerce. Now, in the year 2006, any of you interested in Internet and eCommerce, can take the Internet and eCommerce major as elective courses in your major.
2.	In the midterm examination in June 2006, many students in the MIS course did not do well at all. Some students asked to get another chance through the final examination which may be done by increasing the weight of the final examination.
3.	In the newest version of the textbook (not the version we used over 10 years ago), there are more topics which should be and can be included if we replace www.CharmingMall.com with those important topics.
4.	The course description does not mention www.CharmingMall.com and therefore, removing it is legal because that action does not violate the course description.
5.	So, as shown in the June 29, 2006 version of the schedule of classes, I have replaced www.CharmingMall.com with more important topics and adjusted the weight of the final examination to 65%.
